Andrea Pirlo was born in Flero, Brescia in 1979 and from an early age showed an emerging talent for the game of football. Pirlo has succeeded in establishing himself as one of the most well respected and admired midfielders in European football due to his commanding performances in the middle of the park.

Pirlo began his professional career at Brescia in 1994 and immediately impressed with his strong ability to marshall from the midfield. Pirlo soon solidified his position as a first team regular and his impressive technique earned him a move to Inter Milan in 1998. After a short term at Inter and Reggina during 1999-00 Pirlo moved to AC Milan in 2001 and has remained with the club since this date.

Pirlo has enjoyed a high level of success at AC Milan lifting the Scudetto, an Italian Cup and two Champion’s League trophies with the club. Pirlo is widely considered as one of Europe’s most successful players dictating the run of play from his midfield command post.

At AC Milan he has established himself as a key member of the midfield and has excelled playing alongside the likes of Gennaro Gattuso and Clarence Seedorf. His time at Milan has led him to be considered as a fan’s favourite alongside the likes of club stalwart Paolo Maldini.

Pirlo plays international football for the Italian National Squad and was an integral member of the squad that secured the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Pirlo was regarded as one of the prominent players in an exciting and strong Italy squad, starting every match and impressing with strong and commanding performances. Indeed, his contributions at the finals were rewarded with three FIFA man of the match awards, more than any other player, and the Bronze Ball as the third bets player in the tournament behind Zidane and Fabio Cannavaro.
