About Filippo Inzaghi:

Filippo Inzaghi, affectionately known as “Pippo”, was born in 1973 and through his exciting style of attacking play has succeeded in establishing himself as one of the great European footballers of his generation. Inzaghi showed a natural talent for the game of football from an early age and began his career at local club side Piacenza Calcio in his teenage years. At Piacenza Calcio Inzaghi demonstrated his pinpoint accuracy for scoring goals and he was soon drawing attention from larger clubs as a gifted striker.

Inzaghi moved to Parma in 1995 and he finally had the chance to showcase his developing talent at the highest level of Italian football. Inzaghi did not disappoint and he drew attention with some strong performances. However, it was when Inzaghi moved to Atalanta in 1996 that he became a prolific goalscorer lifting the titles of top Serie A Goalscorer and Young Player of the Year for his efforts.

Inzaghi was reaching the pinnacle of his career when he moved to Juventus to team up with European super stars Zinedine Zidane and Alessandro Del Piero. At Juventus Inzaghi flourished and his exciting performances helped to lead to Juventus to the Scudetto in the 1997-98 season. However, when Trezeguet signed for Juventus Inzaghi found himself out of favour and thus was transferred to Italian giants AC Milan.

At AC Milan Inzaghi excelled and he enjoyed the taste of success lifting the European Cup, the Scudetto, the Italian Super Cup, European Super Cup, the Coppa Italia and the Champion’s League. Inzaghi has secured his place in the annals of European football due to his prolific striking ability in front of goal which was proven on the grandest of scales when Inzaghi scored both of Milan’s goals in the 2007 Champion’s League Final against Liverpool leading the team to victory.

Inzaghi plays international football for the Italian national team and has become one of the top goalscorers in the history of the national team since he first made his debut in 1997 against Brazil.
