Sneijder says no to United

Real Madrid and Netherlands midfielder, Wesley Sneijder has refuted claims that he will join Machester United.

Last week saw a buzz of excitement from the Old Trafford faithful who read about the reported bid by the Red Devils for Sneijder but it has proven to be all in vain as the Dutch midfielder has come out to say how he loves life in Madrid and that he wants to continue playing for the Merengues.

Sneijder who has been instrumental in the Dutch's run to the final eight at Euro 2008 made a name for himself at parent club, Ajax Amsterdam before signing for Real Madrid days before the start of the last Primera Liga season.

"When I left Ajax, the team of my life, I only wanted to go to Madrid, which is the best club in the world," declared the 24-year-old.

On the notion that he might be used as a teaser in Calderon's bid to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabau, Sneijder was adamant that his future is still white and white only.

"The only thing I wish for is success, winning many titles and to be here as long as possible to defend this shirt and this shield.

"I will not consider, nor accept anyone else suggesting, that I am going to leave Madrid."

With the ongoing Ronaldo saga and now Sneijder's name thrown into the hat, Real Madrid and Manchester United are set to continue the transfer warpath in the coming days.
